Social Studies
This year in social studies we are studying American History. This fall, students will work on a U.S.A. Symbol Project and a U.S.A. State Project. In the winter, students will study Native Americans and work on a Native American Project.
Students will also be studying one region of the U.S.A. map at a time. Later on this fall, students will have a quiz every Thursday on a region of the U.S.A. until we have covered the entire map. Each quiz will consist of a blank map of the region and students will be asked to label the states. Students do not need to label the capitals of each state. Spelling does not count as long as I can recognize the name of the state. Students will get 1 point for each state that is labeled correctly. There will also be 1 point given for using capital letters, attempting to spell each state correctly and neatly labeling the entire map.
